Terms of service

Effective date: 25 July 2026

The service

OpenInk Studio is software for tattoo artists and studios. It gives you a public page, an AI assistant that talks to prospective clients and turns the conversation into a structured brief, and a workspace for clients, projects, sketches, proposals, scheduling, and bookings. The AI is a drafting tool. Briefs, concept sketches, and suggested wording are a starting point, not a design decision and not a professional judgment. You review everything before it reaches a client, and the tattoo work, the health screening, and compliance with the rules of your trade stay yours. We improve and change the product as we go. If we remove something you depend on, we give account holders notice first.

Accounts and use

An account belongs to one person. Keep your sign-in credentials to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else is using them. If you invite people into a studio workspace, you are responsible for what they do there. Members see the studio's clients, schedule, and work; owners and managers additionally see financial data. Remove people who no longer work with you. You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and you must hold whatever licences and permits your local rules require for tattooing. Do not use the product to break the law, to harass anyone, to upload content you have no right to, or to try to get around its technical limits. We can suspend an account that is being used this way. Where it is reasonable, we tell you why first and give you a chance to fix it.

Bookings and deposits

Every new account gets 30 days of full access without a card. After that, keeping the paid features means picking a plan: Stencil is billed per artist, Studio is billed per seat, both monthly or annually. Prices are shown on the pricing page before you pay. Subscriptions are handled by Stripe and renew automatically until you cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep access until the period you already paid for ends. We do not prorate refunds for a period already started unless local law says otherwise. Adding seats mid-cycle is charged pro rata. Money from your clients is a separate matter, and it does not pass through us. Deposits and balances are collected through the payment link you put on your own proposal, so the funds go straight to your own account and OpenInk never holds them. What a deposit covers, whether it is refundable, and what happens if a client cancels are between you and your client. Marking a payment as received in the dashboard is your own bookkeeping record and is not a payment confirmation from us.

Content and ownership

Your work stays yours. Portfolio images, flash designs, sketches, page copy, client records, and everything else you put into Studio belongs to you or to whoever you licensed it from. We claim no ownership. To actually run the service you give us a limited licence to store, process, and display that content: showing your portfolio on your public page, sending a proposal to a client, generating a concept sketch from a reference you supplied. The licence exists to operate the features you switched on, and it ends when you delete the content or close the account. Only upload work you have the right to use. If a client's photo or another artist's design goes up on your page without permission, that is on you, and we will take it down when someone with a valid claim asks. The software itself, the brand, and the interface stay ours.

Liability

The service is provided as it is. We work to keep it available and correct, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose, and we do not warrant that AI output is accurate, complete, or suitable for a specific client. We are not liable for the tattoo work itself, for a client's reaction to it, for a booking that falls through, for a dispute over a deposit, or for a decision you made based on something the AI produced. Where the law lets us limit liability, our total liability for any claim connected to the service is capped at what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Either of us can end this agreement at any time. If we end it without cause, we refund the unused part of a period you already paid for.

Contact

Reach us at studio@openink.ai. We update these terms as the product changes. Meaningful changes are announced to account holders before they take effect, with the effective date above updated. Continuing to use Studio after that date means the new terms apply.
